About
Rabbi Michael Siegel is the Senior Rabbi of Anshe Emet Synagogue, a prominent Conservative Jewish congregation in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood near Wrigley Field. He graduated from Hiram College prior to his rabbinic training at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America (JTS), from which he received ordination and a Master of Hebrew Letters in 1982. That year, he began his tenure at Anshe Emet as Assistant Rabbi, advancing to Senior Rabbi in 1990. Over his more than 40-year career, he has been honored for 30 years of dedicated service to the Jewish community and has emerged as a respected leader in Chicago's Jewish institutions, with a long-standing commitment to interfaith and communal activities, reflected in his lighthearted association with the Chicago Cubs through proximity to their stadium. He is also a key organizer of the AFMDA Rabbinic Advisory Council and the AFMDA Rabbinic Solidarity Mission to Israel.
