About
Rabbi Eliyahu Soloveichik is a prominent rabbi and scholar in the Brisker rabbinic dynasty, continuing the Soloveichik family legacy as the son of the late Rabbi Ahron Soloveichik, a leading figure in American Orthodox Judaism, and the father of Meir Soloveichik. He is a significant figure in Modern Orthodox Judaism. He studied under his father and previously served as Segan Rosh HaYeshiva (deputy head of the yeshiva) at Yeshivas Brisk in Chicago, where he directed the semicha (rabbinic ordination) program, contributing significantly to the training of future rabbis in the Brisker method of Talmudic study. He has been actively involved in Jewish education and leadership in Chicago. Currently, he serves as Rosh Yeshiva at Lander College's Beis Medrash L'Talmud (part of Touro University) in New York, delivering shiurim on various topics, including Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day) in times of distress (2024) and reflections from his father's Passover Seder (2024). His teachings emphasize practical halachic insights and personal anecdotes from his family's rabbinic legacy, maintaining the Brisker tradition of rigorous intellectual engagement with Torah texts and influencing students in both Chicago and New York.
