Rabbi David Willig (April 16, 1950 – October 29, 2018) was a prominent Modern Orthodox rabbi who served as the spiritual leader of The Jewish Center, a Modern Orthodox synagogue in Manhattan, from 1986 to 2013. He contributed to Jewish journalism as an author for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), with an article published on April 20, 2010. He was the father of Gary Willig and brother of Joey Willig. Following his death, shiva observances were held at 26 Chaim Vital in Jerusalem and at the family residence, 1448 East 26th Street (Brooklyn, NY). His funeral took place on October 30, 2018, at Schwartz Brothers-Jeffer Memorial Chapel in Forest Hills, New York.
