Rabbi B. Elka Abrahamson is a native Minnesotan, often referring to herself as a proud member of the 'Frozen Chosen.' She earned a teaching degree from the University of Minnesota and began her career developing curricula for Jewish religious schools and informal educational settings, with a focus on Jewish camps. She later pursued rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in New York. Following ordination, Abrahamson served as associate rabbi at Peninsula Temple Beth El in San Mateo, California. She then co-served as senior rabbi at Mount Zion Temple in St. Paul, Minnesota, alongside her husband, Rabbi Martin (Misha) Zinkow. Prior to her current leadership role, she held positions as Director of the Graduate Fellowship Program and Vice President at the Wexner Foundation, assuming her presidency in 2011. As President of The Wexner Foundation, she is known as a dynamic speaker and engaging teacher, overseeing programs developing Jewish professional and public service leaders in North America and Israel.
