About
Peter Marino is an architect and interior designer, born August 9, 1949. He earned an architecture degree from Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning after initially studying painting and sculpture. Marino launched his career at esteemed firms such as Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, George Nelson, and I.M. Pei/Cossutta & Ponte, gaining experience in architecture and design before establishing his own practice. In 1978, he founded Peter Marino Architect PLLC in New York City, where he serves as principal. The firm, employing 160 staff with additional offices in Philadelphia and Southampton, specializes in high-end projects including fashion retail spaces and luxury private homes across locations like Ramatuelle, France. A Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, he is also an avid art collector who has curated exhibitions of his collection and received the Commandeur in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Marino is actively involved in philanthropy, serving as Chairman of Venetian Heritage and supporting Young Concert Artists for over 25 years, including as chairman for a decade and establishing the annual Peter Marino Concert series.
