Paula Kweskin is an Israeli human rights attorney, documentary filmmaker, and activist. She grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and earned a B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a background in political science, law, international law, and human rights. Admitted to the New York Bar, she specializes in international humanitarian and human rights law, as well as environmental policy. Kweskin founded and directs The 49%, an organization advocating for women's rights, and has produced and directed documentaries including Faithkeepers, Moran, and Honor Diaries. Her activism centers on issues affecting women in honor-based societies and Muslim-majority countries, extending her legal and filmmaking expertise into broader human rights advocacy through collaborations and leadership in investigative media and nonprofit sectors.
