About
Paul Rezkalla is an American Christian apologist of Egyptian Coptic descent who rose to prominence through his association with Acts 17 Apologetics, a Christian ministry led by David Wood that specializes in public evangelism and critiques of Islam. On 2010-06-19, he was arrested at the annual Arab International Festival in Dearborn, Michigan, alongside Wood and another team member. The group was charged with disorderly conduct for distributing Gospel tracts and playing a DVD of the Jesus Film without a permit, in violation of festival rules. They were convicted in district court but successfully appealed the convictions to the Wayne County Circuit Court, which dismissed the charges in 2011, citing First Amendment protections. After departing Acts 17 Apologetics around 2012, Rezkalla continued his independent work as a philosopher and apologist, producing videos, blog posts, and debates on topics including Islamic theology, atheism, and philosophy of religion. He has appeared in online discussions challenging Muslim dawah teams and has maintained a presence on platforms like YouTube under his name, focusing on rational defenses of Christianity.
