About
Paul Francis Pelosi Sr. (born April 15, 1940, in San Francisco, California) is an American businessman, venture capitalist, and investor. He is best known as the husband of Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, whom he married in 1963. The youngest of three boys born to Italian immigrant parents, Pelosi grew up in San Francisco and experienced a significant early hardship at age 16 when he lost control of a sports car he was driving, resulting in the death of his 19-year-old brother, David, who was a passenger. Pelosi founded and operated Financial Leasing Services, Inc., a San Francisco-based firm specializing in real estate, venture capital investments, and consulting. His professional interests extend to technology and sports; he previously owned the Sacramento Mountain Lions, a team in the United Football League (2009–2012). Pelosi has been involved in various investments reflecting his role as a venture capitalist and supports charitable causes through philanthropy. He and Nancy Pelosi have five children and reside primarily in San Francisco, with ties to Washington, D.C. While largely maintaining a low public profile despite his wife's prominent political career, his business activities have occasionally intersected with political scrutiny due to his familial connections.
