Oren Ziv, born in 1985 in Haifa, Israel, is an Israeli photojournalist and reporter known for covering Palestinian rights, Israeli military actions, human rights, the occupation, housing struggles, and protests. He is a co-founder of the Activestills photography collective, established in 2005 to document social and political issues in Israel and the Palestinian territories. Since 2011, he has served as a staff photographer for Activestills, and in 2018 joined Local Call (published by +972 Magazine) as a staff reporter. He has worked as a freelance photographer for outlets including Haaretz, Agence France-Presse, and Getty Images, with his work appearing in the New York Times Lens blog, Al Jazeera, Vice, and Tablet. He holds a Master of Arts in Research/Forensic Architecture from Goldsmiths, University of London. In 2016, Ziv was attacked by Israeli settlers in Hebron while accompanying activists Yehuda Shaul (Breaking the Silence) and Colm Toibin.
