About
Nader Mousavizadeh is a businessman, author, geopolitical advisor, and commentator who previously served as a senior United Nations official. From 1997 to 2003, he was Special Assistant to UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, advising on political matters including as a speechwriter, and was described by Perry Anderson in the London Review of Books as one of Annan's two key advisers alongside Edward Mortimer. Earlier, he worked as a UN political officer in Bosnia-Herzegovina. He grew up in Denmark before pursuing higher education in the United States at Harvard College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, followed by a Rhodes Scholarship at Christ Church, University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. After leaving the UN, Mousavizadeh co-founded and serves as co-CEO of Macro Advisory Partners, a London-based strategic advisory firm focused on the intersections of geopolitics, policy, and markets. His career bridges public service and private sector advisory roles, with documented professional relationships including advising Larry Summers.
