Mortimer Joseph 'Tim' Buckley (born 1969) is an American business executive who served as CEO and Chairman of The Vanguard Group from January 1, 2018, until stepping down as CEO in 2024, transitioning the role to Salim Ramji while remaining involved in an advisory capacity. He graduated from Harvard College in 1991 with an A.B. in history and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1993. Buckley joined Vanguard in 1991 as an assistant to the chairman and built a long career at the investment management firm known for its low-cost index funds. He held various leadership roles including chief administrative officer, managing director, president, and chief operating officer before becoming CEO.
