Mollie Ziegler Hemingway (born August 3, 1974) is an American conservative author, journalist, columnist, political commentator, and editor-in-chief of the online magazine The Federalist. Born in Denver, Colorado, to a father who is a retired pastor of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and a mother who is a retired schoolteacher, she grew up in Wyoming, California, and Colorado. Hemingway earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Colorado Denver. Her career began in journalism at small newspapers, followed by work at Gannett Publishing's Federal Times in 2002. She became a founding member and senior editor at The Federalist, a Fox News contributor in 2017 (regular on Special Report with Bret Baier), and Senior Journalism Fellow at Hillsdale College's D.C. campus, where she teaches journalism. She has contributed to outlets like The Wall Street Journal, National Review, USA Today, The Washington Post, and others. Hemingway received the Phillips Foundation Journalism Fellowship in 2004, Claremont Institute Lincoln Fellowship in 2014, Heritage Foundation Salvatori Prize in 2019, and Bradley Prize in 2021. She holds an honorary doctorate from Concordia Theological Seminary. She is the author of 'Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections' and co-author of the bestseller 'Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court.' Initially a critic of Donald Trump during the 2016 Republican primary, she became a vocal supporter thereafter, known for her coverage of politics, media, and culture, with critiques of mainstream media bias, government institutions, intelligence community, election integrity, and foreign policy. Hemingway married journalist Mark Hemingway in 2006. She has been profiled in The New York Times and appeared on C-SPAN multiple times. Her work emphasizes media accountability, cultural analysis, and conservative perspectives on politics.
