Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, commonly known as Sheikh Mohammed, is a prominent Qatari diplomat, economist, and politician who serves as Prime Minister of Qatar. Born on November 1, 1980, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar in 2005. His career began in diplomacy and economics, leveraging his education and family connections to take on key governmental roles. Since 2016, he has served as Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs, guiding the country's international relations amid complex geopolitical dynamics. He was appointed Deputy Prime Minister in 2017 (until 2023) and became Chairman of the Qatar Investment Authority in 2018 (until 2023). Additionally, since 2014, he has chaired the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and been a member of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investments (SCEAI). On March 7, 2023, he was elevated to Prime Minister of Qatar, consolidating his authority in both domestic governance and foreign affairs. Sheikh Mohammed has been instrumental in Qatar's foreign policy, particularly in regional mediation efforts, including facilitating negotiations between Israel and Hamas, as well as broader Middle East diplomacy.
