About
Miriam Weizmann, also known as Micki, is the first wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom she married in 1972 and divorced in 1978. She is the mother of their daughter, Noa Netanyahu-Roth, born in 1978 during the final months of their marriage, which ended amid reports of Netanyahu's affair with Fleur Cates. Weizmann is a distant relative of Chaim Weizmann, Israel's first president and founder of the Weizmann Institute of Science. She completed her mandatory military service in the Israel Defense Forces and earned a first degree in chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem by the time Netanyahu finished his army service. She resided in Jerusalem near the apartment owned by Netanyahu's brother Yoni during his military service. Little public information is available about her professional career or life after the divorce, and she has maintained a low profile outside her association with Netanyahu.
