Michael Shumway Lee (born 1971) is a Republican U.S. Senator from Utah, serving since 2011. He is known as a prominent constitutional conservative with originalist views, libertarian-leaning conservative positions, and advocacy for limited government, constitutional conservatism, energy independence, support for a constitutional convention, religious liberty, traditional values, and opposition to same-sex marriage and government overreach. He has been involved in the Tea Party movement and serves as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution.
