Richard Michael DeWine, commonly known as Mike DeWine, is the 70th Governor of Ohio (Republican), serving since 2018 and reelected in 2022. Born on January 5, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, he graduated from Miami University with a bachelor's degree in education in 1969 and earned a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1972. His career began as an assistant prosecutor and Greene County Prosecutor for one term, followed by roles as Ohio State Senator, U.S. Representative from Ohio's 7th district (1983-1991), Lieutenant Governor of Ohio (1991-1995), U.S. Senator (1995-2007), and Ohio Attorney General (2011-2019).
