Mark Lunsford Pryor (born January 10, 1963, in Fayetteville, Arkansas) is an American attorney, politician, and lobbyist. He is the son of former Arkansas governor and U.S. Senator David Pryor and Barbara Jean Lunsford Pryor. Pryor earned a BA in English from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (1985) and a JD from the University of Arkansas School of Law (1988). His political career began with election to the Arkansas House of Representatives (1991-1995), followed by service as Arkansas Attorney General (1999-2003). He served as a Democratic U.S. Senator from Arkansas from 2003 to 2015, chairing subcommittees on agriculture, transportation, and commerce, and focusing on moderate, bipartisan policies including rural development, infrastructure, and national security. He lost his 2014 reelection bid to Republican Tom Cotton. After leaving the Senate, he became a lobbyist with the firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck in Washington, D.C., advising clients on government relations in areas such as telecommunications and energy.
