Born on July 2, 1954, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, Lynn Forester de Rothschild was raised in Oradell, New Jersey, as the only girl among three brothers and the daughter of Annabelle (née Hewitt) and John Kenneth Forester, who was president and owner of General Aviation Aircraft Service in Teterboro, New Jersey. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Pomona College and earned a Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law. Forester de Rothschild began her professional career in 1980 as an associate at the New York law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, practicing corporate law until 1984, before joining telecommunications mogul John Kluge at Metromedia, where she became an early investor in cellular technology. She is a businesswoman and CEO of E.L. Rothschild. She has been active in promoting inclusive capitalism, founding the Coalition for Inclusive Capitalism and the Council for Inclusive Capitalism, and leading related conferences in London in 2014 and 2015. She was married from 1983 to 1993.
