About
Lisa Perry is an American fashion designer, art collector, and curator known for her eponymous womenswear brand inspired by 1960s and 1970s vintage couture, particularly mod styles and pop art influences. Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs in a family involved in the textile business, she developed a lifelong passion for fabrics, fashion, and art. At age 21, she moved to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology, from which she graduated. Before launching her fashion career, Perry worked as a fundraiser in Democratic politics, notably supporting Hillary Clinton's 2000 U.S. Senate campaign starting in 1998. Her design breakthrough came in 2007 when retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky convinced her to sell her sample pieces, leading to expansion into stores like Barneys New York, her own boutiques in Manhattan and East Hampton, and collaborations with artists such as Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Indiana. Married to hedge fund manager Richard Perry, she is a prominent figure in New York's fashion, art, and social scenes, with a notable collection of pop art. Perry has also ventured into gallerism with Onna House in East Hampton and Soho, and interior design, renovating and selling homes in the Hamptons, Palm Beach, and beyond. A book on her fashion, homes, and design features a foreword by Hillary Clinton.
