About
Libby Molad, also known as Libi Molad, is an Israeli lawyer specializing in property and real estate law, with business interests in real estate and prior experience in hi-tech. She is an early childhood educator trained as one of Israel's few Montessori counselors and an advocate for child-centered education methods. Influenced by Ayn Rand's Objectivism, she is a prominent member of the Israeli Freedom Movement, a classical liberal organization, and leader of the 'Our Interest' economic lobby promoting free-market policies. As an education activist, she promotes reforming Israel's education system through a voluntary school voucher program modeled on the US system to foster competition, improve achievements, and increase parental satisfaction, stating: 'The method will create healthy competition between schools and has been proven to improve students’ achievements and parental satisfaction from the education system.' Politically, she ranked 5th on the Zehut party list for the April 2019 Knesset elections and was designated as Zehut's candidate for Minister of Education. After Zehut failed to enter the Knesset, she co-founded and led the New Liberal Party of Israel, promoting libertarian policies including education decentralization. In her career, she is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at SmartUp Academy, an organization teaching entrepreneurship to youth (October 2021–present), and an angel investor in the Israeli startup ecosystem.
