Leanne G. Caret is an American businesswoman born on November 18, 1966. She began her career with over eleven years at the RAND Corporation, advancing to senior political scientist, and served for more than a decade as an adjunct professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University's Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. In 1988, she joined Boeing, embarking on a 34-year tenure during which she rose through various senior leadership positions, including chief financial officer of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and president of Boeing Global Services and Support. In 2017, she made history as the first woman to lead one of Boeing's three major global business units, serving as president and chief executive officer of BDS until 2022. She later became executive vice president of Boeing and senior advisor before retiring in December 2022. During her time at Boeing, she had professional overlaps with figures like Nikki Haley, who served on the board. Post-retirement, Caret has continued her influence in the sector, joining the boards of RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and serving on the United Service Organizations (USO) board of governors. A graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Wichita State University with a Master of Business Administration, Caret is recognized for her expertise in aerospace, defense, and national security.
