About
LEAD Cohort II is the second cohort of the American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) program, consisting of 14 emerging leaders aged 30-50 selected from across the United States. The 18-month immersive program, which began in January 2023 and culminated in graduation in April 2024 in Austin, Texas, aimed to cultivate ambassadors for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem through U.S.-based leadership seminars, a week-long mission to Israel in June 2023, networking events such as the Palm Beach Board Weekend in January 2023, and webinars on HU innovations. Participants engaged with HU leadership including President Prof. Asher Cohen and AFHU executives such as CEO Joshua Rednik and former CFO/COO Elissa Fishman, who helped engage the group. Upon graduation, the cohort pledged $75,000 to support HU student scholarships and joined the AFHU Board of Regents as the next generation of leaders in AFHU's development and governance pipeline.
