About
Lauren Cherie Southern, born June 16, 1995, in British Columbia, Canada, is a far-right activist, media figure, YouTuber, journalist, pundit, and documentary filmmaker. She studied political science at the University of the Fraser Valley for two years but left without a degree to pursue self-education. In 2015, she ran as a Libertarian Party candidate in the Canadian federal election for the Langley–Aldergrove riding, receiving 535 votes (0.9% of the total) and placing last. She later joined Rebel Media, a right-wing outlet, contributing until March 2017, after which she became an independent content creator. Her documentaries include Farmlands (on South African farm murders), Borderless (on migration issues), and Crossfire. Southern has been associated with alt-right and far-right circles and faced international restrictions, such as a 2018 ban from entering the United Kingdom for distributing inflammatory leaflets, including claims like 'Allah is a gay god.'
