About
Kobi Michael is a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), editor of Strategic Assessment, and former deputy director general of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs. He holds a B.A. in Behavioral Science from Ben-Gurion University (1990-1992, cum laude) and has served as faculty at Ben-Gurion University (2008-2011), senior faculty at Ariel University (2013-2015), visiting professor at Northwestern University (2006-2007), visiting professor at Peking University (2017), and visiting professor at the International Centre for Policing and Security, University of South Wales, UK. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Panel at Military Strategy Magazine. Michael is the author of 20 books and monographs, and over 100 articles and book chapters, and has received awards including the Yariv Prize, Tshetshik Prize, Yitzhak Sadeh Prize, and the Israeli Association for Political Science Prize for the best book (2008-2009). His research focuses on conflict resolution, strategy, national security, civil-military relations, failed states, peacekeeping and state-building operations, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
