She began her professional journey in 1980 at the John M. Olin Foundation under the mentorship of former Treasury Secretary William E. Simon. Dennis served as the first executive director of the Philanthropy Roundtable, transforming it into a key organization for high-net-worth donors committed to classical liberal and conservative principles. Currently, she is the president and CEO of the Searle Freedom Trust, known for her strategic foundation management and commitment to the foundation’s sunset provision, ensuring the prompt spending of assets to honor the donor's intent and prevent mission drift.
