Kevin Fulbright Warren, born November 17, 1963, in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American sports executive and the son of Morrison Warren Sr., a pioneering African-American football player for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948. A Christian and philanthropist, he co-founded Carolyn's Comforts with his wife Greta (married 1992) in memory of his late sister Carolyn Elaine Warren-Knox, donating significantly to children's hospitals including $1 million to Lurie Children's Hospital. The couple has two children, daughter Peri Warren and son Powers Warren, a former college football player. The family resides in the greater Chicago area and supports community initiatives like school supplies for underprivileged students. Warren briefly attended the University of Pennsylvania for basketball before transferring to Grand Canyon University, where he earned a BS in Business Administration in 1986 while scoring 1,118 career points. He pursued advanced degrees, obtaining an MBA from Arizona State University in 1988 and a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 1990. Warren began his career as a sports lawyer, founding Kevin F. Warren & Associates in 1992, before entering NFL front offices with the St. Louis Rams in 1997, where he contributed to their Super Bowl XXXIV victory. Subsequent roles included senior positions with the Detroit Lions (2001-2003) and a long tenure with the Minnesota Vikings starting in 2005, culminating as the first African-American COO in NFL history from 2015 to 2019, overseeing the construction of U.S. Bank Stadium and other major initiatives. From 2020 to 2023, Warren served as Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, becoming the first African-American to lead a Power Five conference; he managed expansions including USC and UCLA, and secured a seven-year media rights deal worth at least $7 billion. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Chicago Bears since 2023.
