Dick Cheney met privately with Enron CEO Kenneth Lay at least six times during the Energy Task Force deliberations in 2001. Lay first met with the task force on February 22, 2001, just over a month after Bush inauguration. At their April 17 meeting, Lay handed Cheney a three-page wish list of corporate policy recommendations. Analysis showed the task force adopted all or significant portions of Enron recommendations in seven of eight policy areas.
