Kelly T. Keisling (born March 16, 1951, in Albany, Kentucky) is an American politician and insurance executive who has served as a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 38 since January 2011. He represents parts of Clay, Jackson, Pickett, Scott, and Fentress counties in the Upper Cumberland region. Prior to his legislative career, Keisling served as Pickett County Executive from 1994 to 1998 and has been president of Keisling Insurance. He is a graduate of Pickett County High School and attended Belmont University. A Southern Baptist and member of Etter Baptist Church, Keisling is known for sponsoring conservative legislation on religious freedom and anti-Sharia measures. He has been married to Janet Keisling for over 51 years, with three adult children and multiple grandchildren. Residing in Byrdstown, Tennessee, he is active in community organizations and holds memberships in the National Rifle Association and National Federation of Independent Business. Keisling has served on committees including Commerce, Judiciary, and Government Operations, and has received awards such as Legislator of the Year from various organizations. His career has included controversy, notably a 2012 mass email alleging a conspiracy involving President Barack Obama, opposition to COVID-19 vaccine requirements, and support for the 2023 expulsion of three Democratic lawmakers.
