About
Katrina Lantos Swett is an American human rights advocate, attorney, and former CEO of the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice (founded by her late father, Tom Lantos, the first Holocaust survivor elected to the U.S. Congress). As the younger daughter of Tom and Annette Lantos, she has dedicated much of her career to advancing international religious freedom, combating antisemitism, and promoting human rights policy. She served as Chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) from 2012 to 2016, advocating for policies protecting religious minorities worldwide. Her work intersects with U.S. foreign policy, emphasizing democratic values and human rights in global affairs. Swett has authored articles, spoken extensively on religious persecution and genocide prevention, participated in educational initiatives and interfaith dialogues, testified before Congress, and engaged in international forums. She continues her family's legacy of survivor testimony and advocacy against totalitarianism, bridging personal family history with broader humanitarian efforts.
