About
Jordana Horn (also known as Jordana Horn Gordon) is an American journalist, podcaster, retired attorney, and parenting expert based in Short Hills, New Jersey. Born in 1973, she is the daughter of Susan Horn and Dr. Matthew Horn of Short Hills, N.J., and the sister of author Dara Horn. She was previously married (divorced prior to 2010) and has two sons from that marriage. In 2010, at age 37, she married Jon Andrew Gordon, a partner at Palladian Capital Partners, in a ceremony at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in New York officiated by Rabbi Michael S. Friedman and Rabbi Azriel C. Fellner. The couple has six children together (aged 6-17 as of recent bios) and resides in Short Hills, N.J.
Education: University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in English and communications); London School of Economics and Political Science (1995-1996, Diploma in international relations/world politics); University of Pennsylvania Law School (1996-1999, J.D.).
Career: Horn began her career as an attorney before transitioning to journalism. She served as New York bureau chief and New York correspondent for The Jerusalem Post around 2010, where she interviewed figures such as Reuben early in his tenure as UN Ambassador. She is a contributing editor at Kveller (Jewish parenting site) and has written on parenting for The New York Times, The Washington Post, TODAY, and others. Currently, she is a reporter at The Times of Israel, covering Jewish activism, antisemitism on campuses, Israel-related events, and U.S. Jewish community issues (active as of 2025). She co-hosts the parenting podcast Call Your Mother with Shannon Sarna, produced by Kveller/My Jewish Learning, discussing Jewish parenting topics from celebrity parents to addiction. Recognized as a parenting expert by NBC's Today Show and Fox & Friends, she has moderated panels nationwide. Horn is a member of the inaugural Hartman Seminar & Writers Workshop for Journalists at the Shalom Hartman Institute. She has served on the boards of Jewish Family Services and the Essex County National Council of Jewish Women, and is involved in voting rights activism and Jewish public affairs.
