Jon Allen Husted, born on August 25, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Kettering, Ohio, is an American Republican politician. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science in education in 1989 and earned a Master of Education in educational administration from the University of Dayton. Before entering politics, Husted worked as a high school teacher and baseball coach at Archbishop Alter High School in Kettering, Ohio. He launched his political career in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 59th District from 2001 to 2005, followed by service in the Ohio Senate for the 10th District from 2006 to 2010, where he served as minority whip.
