About
Jens Breivik, born on 9 June 1935 in Oslo, Norway, is a retired Norwegian diplomat who spent much of his career in the Norwegian Foreign Service, holding various diplomatic postings abroad including in London and Paris. He is the father of Anders Behring Breivik, the far-right extremist responsible for the 2011 Norway attacks. Breivik married Wenche Behring in 1979, and their son Anders was born on 13 February 1979. The marriage ended in divorce in 1980 when Anders was one year old, after which Jens had minimal contact with his son. Following the divorce, Breivik remarried a French woman, had two more children, and settled in France where he continued his diplomatic career. He has expressed profound regret over his limited involvement in Anders's life, particularly following the 2011 attacks. Breivik maintains a low public profile and resides in France in retirement.
