The aerial and space warfare branch of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). It provides aerial superiority and advancement to enable IDF operational activities, defends Israeli civilians and sovereignty, conducts rescues from combat, and provides humanitarian aid internationally. The force continuously integrates new aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft (RPAs), and advanced technologies. It has an extensive combat history, including the Six-Day War (Operation Focus), Operation Opera (1981 Osiraq raid), the 2006 Lebanon War, Gaza operations, and strikes in Syria and Iran (e.g., Operation Roaring Lion 2026). Key bases include Ramat David, Hatzerim, Nevatim, Palmachim, and others. It operates advanced aircraft such as the F-35I Adir, F-15I Ra'am, F-16I Sufa, AH-64 Apache helicopters, and UAVs like the Heron TP.
