About
The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) is the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), functioning as a nonprofit public-interest law firm and supporting organization. It engages in immigration-related litigation, maintaining over 150 active cases and filing numerous friend-of-the-court briefs in U.S. Supreme Court, federal appeals courts, district courts, and state courts. IRLI focuses on issues of national security, national sovereignty, and protecting federal-state cooperation in immigration enforcement. It litigates against sanctuary city policies, defends restrictive immigration legislation, and drafts model anti-immigrant bills for lawmakers. IRLI has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).
