H.R. 609 (116th Congress, 2019-2020) is the Small Business Mergers, Acquisitions, Sales, and Brokerage Simplification Act of 2019. It directs the Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a simplified approval process for broker-dealers registered with the SEC and FINRA to facilitate mergers, acquisitions, sales, and brokerage of small businesses, with the purpose of reducing regulatory burdens on small business transactions and making it easier for owners to sell or transfer their businesses.
