Hagai El-Ad is an Israeli human rights and LGBT activist born on October 1, 1969. He has been a prominent figure in Israel's civil rights landscape, focusing on advocacy for marginalized communities, including those affected by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the LGBT population. From May 2014 to June 2023, he served as the director general of B'Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization that documents and reports on human rights violations in the Occupied Territories. Prior to B'Tselem, he held directorial positions at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI), advancing legal and policy advocacy for civil liberties, and the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, supporting LGBT rights.
