About
Golda Foxman (née Bauman) is the widow of Abraham Foxman, the late longtime National Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a prominent Jewish advocacy organization. Married to Abraham since the 1960s, Golda has maintained a low public profile, focusing on supporting her husband's career in combating antisemitism and promoting civil rights. The couple relocated to Bergen County, New Jersey, in 1968, shortly after Abraham's early involvement in local Jewish community initiatives, including the founding of the Jewish federation there. They raised their four children in this suburban environment, with one son, Ariel Foxman, later becoming a notable figure in media as the former editor-in-chief of InStyle magazine. Golda occasionally appears in public settings related to her husband's work, such as attending galas and benefits in New York City. In 2014, she was photographed alongside Abraham and Ariel at the 13th annual Live Out Loud Young Trailblazers Benefit gala. She also made a brief appearance as herself in the 2009 documentary 'Defamation,' directed by Yoav Shamir, which explores perceptions of antisemitism and features Abraham prominently; Golda is credited simply as Abraham Foxman's wife. In 2007, her husband dedicated his book "The Deadliest Lies: The Israel Lobby and the Myth of Jewish Control" to her, and she attended the book launch reception at the Four Seasons in New York City, where she was described as a "statuesque blond" and was seen speaking with Dr. Ruth Westheimer. In 2014, it was reported that Golda had saved her husband's life after he "died in his sleep" following a holiday dinner; she noticed his condition immediately and alerted his security detail, who revived him with a defibrillator before he underwent bypass surgery. Abraham Foxman passed away on May 10, 2026. An obituary published in The New York Times lists her as a surviving spouse and mentions her children Michelle and Ariel, her son-in-law Brandon, and her grandchildren (Cielo, Leila, Gideon, Amirit). Beyond these instances, Golda Foxman has remained a private individual, with little documented information about her personal or professional pursuits outside of her family role.
