Gideon Taylor is an Irish-born attorney and executive in Jewish humanitarian and restitution organizations, serving as President of the Claims Conference. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, he moved to New York in 1990 to begin his career with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), the overseas humanitarian arm of the American Jewish community. From 1994, he served as Assistant Director at the JDC, where he met his wife Deborah. Taylor is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. He has held senior roles in Holocaust-era restitution efforts, including at the World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO), where he is based in New York. His work focuses on recovering assets for Holocaust survivors and their heirs through negotiations with governments and institutions. He attended Trinity College, Dublin, and has been a key figure in international Jewish communal organizations.
