About
Gabriel Morris Ledeen is the son of Michael and Barbara Ledeen. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2003 to 2011, achieving the rank of Captain and deploying twice to Al Anbar Province, Iraq (2006-2007), including specific sites such as Haditha, Karma, and Zaidon. His service included assignments at bases in Quantico, Virginia; Camp Johnson, North Carolina; Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; and Twentynine Palms, California. His military experiences are preserved in the Gabriel Ledeen Collection at the Library of Congress. Post-active duty, he contributed articles to publications including the Washington Times, Jerusalem Post, and National Review. Ledeen holds a BA cum laude from Rice University and a JD from Stanford Law School. He is licensed to practice law in California and New York, with expertise in antitrust, trade law, privacy, artificial intelligence, and machine learning issues. He clerked for Judge A. Raymond Randolph on the D.C. Circuit and worked at Jones Day and as privacy and AI counsel at Facebook/Meta and Cruise. He is currently Director of Privacy at Shopify and is associated with the Federalist Society, where professional directories note his role advising technical and business leaders on data protection and regulatory compliance.
