About
Fred Zeidman is a veteran business executive with a 50-year career focused on high-profile corporate workouts, restructurings, and turnarounds, primarily in the energy sector. He served as CEO, President, and Chairman of Seitel, Inc., a Houston-based onshore seismic data provider, where he led a successful turnaround. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of Unibar Corporation, the largest domestic independent drilling fluids company, until its sale to Anchor Drilling Fluids in 1992. Other notable roles include Chief Restructuring Officer of TransMeridian Exploration Inc., Chief Bankruptcy Trustee of AremisSoft Corp., Interim President of Nova Biosource Fuels, Inc., lead Director of Straight Path Communications Inc. (sold to Verizon in 2017), and Chairman of Gordian Group LLC since 2014, an investment bank specializing in distressed financial matters. He has also been involved with SPACs as CEO and Co-Chairman of Good Works Acquisition Corp. and Chairman of Good Works II Acquisition Corp., and serves on boards including Prosperity Bank, Bluejay Diagnostics, Inc., Camber Energy, and REMA (a division of NRG Corp.). A Houston-based civic leader and prominent GOP fundraiser, Zeidman resides in Houston, Texas, with his wife and children. He is Chairman Emeritus of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council and has held positions such as Chairman Emeritus of the University of Texas Health Science System Houston, Director and former Chief Financial Officer of the Texas Heart Institute, and board member of Memorial Children’s Hospital and the University of Saint Thomas. He was National Campaign Chairman of the Development Corporation of Israel (Israel Bonds) from 2010 to 2017 and continues on its board, and has served on the board and Executive Committee of the National World War II Museum. He is also Co-Chair Emeritus of the Council for a Secure America and active in the Republican Jewish Coalition, maintaining an active presence on LinkedIn sharing insights on business, energy markets, and pro-Israel advocacy.
