Floridians Protecting Freedom is the ballot initiative campaign that qualified Florida Amendment 4, the Right to Abortion initiative, for the 2024 general election to protect abortion rights in the Florida state constitution. The campaign submitted 1,020,330 signatures on February 1, 2024, and was certified by the Florida Secretary of State on February 12, 2024. The amendment text states: 'Limiting government interference with abortion. Except as provided herein, the state shall not prohibit, penalize, or restrict abortion before viability. This amendment does not change the legislature’s current authority to prohibit abortion after viability.' The Florida Supreme Court upheld the ballot title and summary in a 4-3 decision on April 1, 2024.
