About
Peder Are Nøstvold Jensen (born June 11, 1975, in Norway), known by the pseudonym Fjordman, is a Norwegian far-right blogger, writer, and key figure in the counter-jihad movement, prominent for his writings on Islam and cultural preservation. He began writing anonymously under this pseudonym in 2005, contributing to various online platforms critical of Islam and multiculturalism, such as Gates of Vienna and Jihad Watch. His writings argue for the incompatibility of Islam with European values, and he self-published a book titled 'Defeating Eurabia' promoting these views. In 2011, his identity was revealed, and his work gained notoriety when his essays were extensively cited (over 100 times) in the manifesto of Anders Behring Breivik, perpetrator of the 2011 Norway attacks that killed 77 people. Although Jensen condemned the violence and distanced himself from Breivik, and Norwegian authorities found no direct involvement, his rhetoric has been criticized as inflammatory and linked to far-right extremism. He has been accused of promoting Islamophobia and hate speech, including statements such as 'Islam, and all those who practice it, must be totally and physically removed from the entire Western world.' Jensen has also been involved in anti-vaccine activism and maintains influence in niche online communities despite mainstream backlash. He resides in Norway and continues to write sporadically.
