About
Eylon Aslan-Levy, known as Eylon Levy, is a British-Israeli journalist born in 1991. Educated in the United Kingdom, he attended University College School in London before earning a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford in 2013. At age 23, he immigrated to Israel in 2014 to enlist in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) during the 2014 Gaza War. Prior to his government role, Levy worked as a television news anchor and served as international media advisor to Israeli President Isaac Herzog. He gained prominence as the former Israeli government spokesman and English-language media spokesperson during the Gaza war following October 7, 2023, becoming the face of Israel's international media campaign. Levy was suspended from his position as official Israeli government spokesman in March 2024 following complaints from the UK government over his public criticism of their position on Israel and the Gaza war. He now heads the Israeli Citizen Spokespersons' Office and hosts the 'State of a Nation' podcast, which is partly sponsored by Israel's Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism. Levy continues public advocacy, visiting Jewish diaspora communities worldwide with organizations including the Jewish National Fund and StandWithUs.
