About
Eric Coomer is a former Director of Product Strategy and Security (also referred to as Voting Systems Officer of Strategy and Security) at Dominion Voting Systems, a Colorado-based election technology company. He holds a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the University of California, Berkeley. Coomer gained significant public attention following the 2020 U.S. presidential election when the Trump campaign and others publicized an unverified report alleging that he had told Antifa activists in a pre-election telephone call that the vote could be fixed for Joe Biden. These claims originated from a podcast by Joe Oltmann and were amplified by various conservative outlets. The allegations led to severe backlash, including death threats that forced Coomer into hiding. He filed a defamation lawsuit against Project Veritas and others, claiming the reports were false and damaging. The controversy highlighted tensions around election integrity claims post-2020 election, with Coomer maintaining his innocence regarding any election misconduct.
