Vice President Cheney Energy Task Force held at least six meetings with Enron executives in 2001. Enron enjoyed unprecedented access including explicit support for Enron choices for key regulatory positions, intervention in foreign government affairs on Enron behalf, and the structuring of the task force itself to allow Enron and other corporations to effectively set national energy policy. Cheney fought disclosure of meeting participants all the way to the Supreme Court in Cheney v. United States District Court (2004), winning 7-2.
