Edwin Black, born February 27, 1950, is an American investigative journalist, historian, syndicated columnist, opinion journalist, and weekly talk show host of The Edwin Black Show. He is the son of Jewish immigrants who fled Nazi oppression and began his journalism career in the 1970s as a newspaper reporter in Chicago, contributing to local publications. Black specializes in human rights, the historical interplay between economics and politics in the Middle East, petroleum policy, academic fraud, corporate criminality and abuse, and the financial underpinnings of Nazi Germany. He is the author of 'IBM and the Holocaust' and has received awards including the Carl Sandburg Award for The Transfer Agreement, two Folio Awards, and a Computer Press Association Award for excellence in magazine journalism.
