Dror Etkes is a prominent Israeli left-wing activist and researcher primarily focused on monitoring and documenting Israeli settlement policies and activities in the occupied Palestinian territories. He is known for his detailed research into land appropriation by various organizations, including the World Zionist Organization (WZO), and has provided critical evidence in legal cases, such as the Ofra settlement case brought before Israel's Supreme Court. Etkes previously worked as a researcher for the Israeli human rights organization Yesh Din and was also affiliated with Peace Now. In 2012, he founded Kerem Navot, an independent organization dedicated to in-depth research and analysis of land policy and its implementation in the West Bank.
