About
Dov Weissglas was born in Tel Aviv to an affluent family and grew up in Ramat Gan. He graduated with an LLB degree, interned at the Tel Aviv District Court, and obtained his law license in 1971. He began his legal career at the Tel Aviv firm Moritz & Margolis, becoming a partner in 1978, and in 1984 acquired the firm along with Amir Almagor, serving as a senior partner thereafter. As an Israeli lawyer and businessman, Weissglas played a significant role in the Middle East peace process, particularly during Ariel Sharon's tenure as Prime Minister, where he served as Chief of Staff and key negotiator on issues including settlement policy with the U.S. Bush administration. His involvement extended to high-level diplomatic engagements following events like the 2006 Hamas election victory in Gaza.
