Douglas Lawrence Lamborn, commonly known as Doug Lamborn, is an American attorney and Republican politician who served as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 5th congressional district from 2007 to 2025. Born on May 24, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas, he grew up in the state and graduated from Lansing High School in Lansing, Kansas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas in 1978 and a Juris Doctor in 1985 from the same institution. After completing law school, Lamborn moved his family to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he practiced business and real estate law while raising five children.

Lamborn entered public service in Colorado, serving in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1995 to 1998 and then in the Colorado State Senate from 1998 to 2006, where he acted as president pro tempore from 1999 to 2000. His state legislative career focused on conservative priorities, including fiscal responsibility and limited government. In 2006, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing a district centered in Colorado Springs that includes military installations like Fort Carson and the United States Air Force Academy. During his tenure, Lamborn was known for his strong support of defense issues, given the district's military significance, and he co-sponsored legislation such as the Taylor Force Act, which aimed to restrict U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority until it stops payments to families of militants.
