Debbie Schlussel is an American attorney, author, political commentator, movie critic, TV host, and blogger. Born on April 9, 1969, she is known for her conservative views, particularly her strong criticism of Islam and advocacy for counter-terrorism policies. Her commentary and writings frequently cover pop culture, politics, Islamic terrorism, American Muslims, illegal immigration, news, and sports. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Throughout her career, Schlussel has been a controversial figure. She is Jewish and has often been criticized for her rhetoric regarding Islam, which some observers and organizations have characterized as Islamophobic. She gained significant media attention in 2017 when she publicly accused Fox News host Sean Hannity of sexual harassment, alleging he invited her to his hotel room after a show and subsequently blacklisted her when she declined. Hannity vehemently denied these allegations. Earlier, in 2014, Schlussel filed a defamation lawsuit against radio host Mark Levin, which was later dismissed. She has also collaborated professionally with figures like Joe Kaufman.
